Our children are involved in several important programs and are encouraged to be active participants in worship, fellowship and mission projects. Age-based classes meet during the regular school year. The children go to their classes on Sunday mornings after our children’s sermon during worship (usually about fifteen minutes into the service). On Communion Sundays the children begin the morning at church school, then join their families in worship for communion.
Preschool Classes
For children age 3 though 5, our class offers a fun, loving and welcoming environment. We use a multi-denominational curriculum that helps to bring God’s word alive for these children.
Elementary Classes
Our kindergarten through 5th grade students attend innovative rotational classes that engage kids in contemporary ways by teaching the Bible through art, music, games, storytelling, cooking, science, computers, video, etc. This Firelight Bible Learning Curriculum is based on the theory of multiple intelligence, allowing students to learn in a variety of ways. Since activities are based on real-life situations, our children can clearly connect the Bible stories to their daily lives. By targeting a variety of workshops, we are able to provide fun and creative ways that children can have fun learning about God.
